World Outside Co asked me to help them tell the story of one of the businesses in one of Doordash’s entrepreneurial programs, and I was delighted to tell the story of Azla — an incredible Ethiopean restaurant in Los Angeles. Working to showcase a multicultural enterprise with an owner who is a filmmaker herself, I chose to shoot on 16mm film mixed with Alexa footage.
