I interviewed Doris Meissner (former commissioner of immigration under Clinton, responsible for creating our current immigration policy) and followed Byron Arturo Talavera (an inspiring Doer, business owner and immigrant from Nicaragua) as he searched for his missing cousin along the border. A humbling experience, to see the resilience of those looking for their lost family members, and experience the emotional toll that these policies have on people like Byron.
